| smiled, turned and walked out of the room. Wow that was interesting | thought. | didn't really lie | just didn't tell
the entire truth. Either way my issue with Ginny is taken care of. Now to address my dear friend Emma.
Somehow | don't think this will be quite as easy. As | showered | couldn't help reflect how somehow, I'm now
seeing everything for what it is! It was like before Friday night | was sleep walking through my life. Thank you
Scottie! Yes Scottie has impactedand my family in ways that he is unaware. | wonder when I'll be able to see
him again? It would be nice to just go out to dinner and talk. | want to get to know him better. Hmmm! | wonder
when my husband will be out of town?
| finally decided it was better to talk to Emma in a public place, face to face, than a phone call. | texted her and
asked if she could meetfor a late lunch at La Tour? She replied immediately and asked what time. We agreed
to meet at 3:00 for an early dinner.
As | arrived at La Tour | couldn't help but notice that the place was empty! | guess 3:00 lunches or dinners aren't
in Vogue! As | waited for Emma | sent Scottie a text, "I miss you Scottie." Damn I'm being so weak. As | put my
phone away | saw Emma striding towards me. | smiled inwardly because she looked like she was on a discovery
mission and would not be stopped!
"Hi Emma. How are you?" | asked.
Emma quickly sat down and asked, "What the hell happened to you Friday night?"

Our drinks cand | raised my glass, "To Emma! For takingto a wonderful event at Crickets. Thank you
Emma!" We clinked glasses as | stared at her. | could tell she was taken aback. | smirked and quickly added,
"What the hell happened to you? You leftall alone to fend for myself!"
Emma was stunned. She countered, "I did not do that Andrea. | saw you sitting at the bar and then you were
gone. I'm sorry Andrea. | was having a good time. | thought you were having a good tas well."
| took the opening and went in for the kill shot, | barked in a pissy mood, "Well obviously | wasn't! You were on
the dance floor having a good old tand you forgot about me. Being that | was feeling no pain thanks to you, |
started to panic. Luckily my neighbor's son offered to takehwhich I gladly accepted. Are you happy
Emma? Now you know what happened. How does that make you feel?"
| took a swig of my wine after my Oscar winning performance and stared at Emma waiting for her response. She
looked stunned and stuttered, "Oh my god Andrea! I'm so sorry! | didn't know. | just thought you got lucky."
I didn't let up, "Lucky Emma? I'm fucking married! Why would | want to get lucky?"
Emma looked confused. She took a sip of her wine and looked at me. Her eyes misting she said, "I'm sorry
Andrea. | had no idea."
| reached over and grabbed her hand, "It's okay Emma. Everything worked out for the best. Trust me!"
After that we were able to relax and enjoy our dinner as we talked about everything other than Friday night.
Eventually we left just as the early evening crowd was coming in. | gave Emma a big hug and told her she was a
good friend. | got hdreading the fact that my husband was returning tonight. | took my taround the
house knowing full well that | didn't want to have a confrontation with him tonight. Eventually | tired of waiting
for him and went to bed. Morning rolled around quickly. | looked over to find my husband sound asleep. | must
have been tired as | didn't even hear him cin. Just as well. | put on my robe and headed downstairs to make
scoffee. | didn't want to waste too much tas | knew | had a lot to do to prepare for the pool party. |
thought about starting breakfast but decided against it. | was sipping my coffee lost in my own little world when |
heard my husband, John, enter the room. He crabbed, "Andrea what's for breakfast?"
| looked at him with disgust. | growled, "What's for breakfast? What the fuck John! How about, Hi Andrea, |
missed you, I'm glad to be home. Really John?" | got up and stomped out of the kitchen shouting, "Get your own
fucking breakfast asshole."
| raced upstairs and slammed the bedroom door shut. No sooner had | done that | heard him racing upstairs and
into our bedroom, "What the fuck is a matter with you Andrea? | just asked what's for breakfast?"
| glared at him, "You've been gone all week and you don't even givea hug or a kiss? You walk in like I'm your
fucking employee demanding breakfast! Fuck you John. I've had it with your lack of attention and affection. Go
make your own fucking breakfast!"
I pushed past him into the bathroom and heard him shout, "Fine I'll just get breakfast at the club. So glad to be

| screamed through the door, "Yeah John go hide at the club with all your buddies, that will solve everything. In
the meantI'll explain to your only child why you didn't even wait to see her. When are you leaving town
again? It can't be soon enough as fas as I'm concerned!"
| locked the door which was a good thing as he tried to get in. He pounded on the door and shouted, "Andrea
open up and letin. Now!"
All of a sudden everything started to hitand | realized that | needed to make a change. | started to cry as |
whimpered through the door, "Go away John. Please, justalone. Get out! | don't want you here anymore.
Please just go!" It got eerily quiet for a bit when all of sudden | heard, "I'm leaving Andrea. I'll be hlate. Will

The nerve of him trying to dictate towhat we will do. | snapped! | lost control as my anger boiled over. |
opened the door and said, "John we never talk. I'm done. Do you hear me? I'm done. Sleep in the other bedroom!
| want your ass out of this house tomorrow. Am | making myself clear?"
He shook his head and said, "Fine Andrea, | have to leave on business tomorrow anyway."
He walked out and | plopped myself on the bed as tears began to cascade out of me. I cried until | was all cried
out. I don't know how long I laid there wallowing in my misery. Not knowing what else to do I put on one of my
ratty tee shirts and scut off sweats. | figured I'll go work on my garden before getting the food ready for the
pool party. As | went downstairs | saw Ginny sitting on the kitchen table. She looked atwith a sad face and
said, "Mom is everything okay between you and dad? You guys wokeup with your argument."
