Chapter 104:

Alice couldn't find the right words to answer.
Mrs. Reyes's gaze locked on her, and Alicia clenched her jaw, feeling uncomfortable. She shot a piercing glance
at Caden. "It wasn't on purpose. I'm sorry."
Caden replied, “Oh, | assumed you were askingfor a card.”
Once again, Alice was speechless.
Mrs. Reyes let out a soft laugh. “Miss Bennett, are you losing control?”
Feeling an unexpected surge of boldness, Alice replied, “I've been sitting here so long that my legs cramped up.
That's why | accidentally hit Mr. Ward. But watch out, Mrs. Reyes, you could be next.”
Mrs. Reyes' expression darkened. "Good sportsmanship is important when playing. Even if it's just for fun, you
have to understand the rules and not resort to underhand tactics."
Caden chuckled. “I have to ask, who cup with the rules for this table?”
Mrs. Reyes replied: "Nobody created them; they have been in place for generations."
“I swear it was you, Mrs. Reyes,” Caden said.
Mrs. Reyes' heart skipped a beat as her gaze turned to him. Was there something else behind those words? Did
he suspect something?
But his face remained unreadable.
The weight of the moment pressed down on her, sapping her usual confidence. An ally had already slipped away.
After losing all her chips in record time, Alice began to play recklessly, her aggressive moves becoming more and
more intense. Although Mrs. Reyes remained ahead, her victories were becoming less and less certain.
Shuffling the cards in his hands, Caden commented, “Three thousand dollars doesn't seem like much. Ms. Reyes,
how about we up the ante?”
Mrs. Reyes paused, unsure.
Caden added: "If she's not willing, it doesn't matter."
Mrs. Reyes could not tolerate such a slight. Without hesitation, she replied, "What is your proposal, Mr. Ward?"

Mrs. Reyes fell silent. Her instincts told her that Caden had set his sights on her. A strong feeling of unease
washed over her.
Alicia, unfazed by her empty wallet, looked at Mrs. Reyes's grim face and smiled. "A hundred thousand? That's
all? That's chump change. Let's raise it to two hundred thousand. Mr. Ward can afford it. Congratulations, Mrs.
Reyes, it looks like today is your lucky day."
Mrs. Reyes didn't dare smile. Alicia's words seemed like praise, but Mrs. Reyes knew she was being set up. Still,
with the biggest wins yet, backing out was not an option.
“Okay. We'll go with Mr. Ward's idea,” Mrs. Reyes finally concedes.
But Caden interjected: “Actually, let's follow Ms. Bennett's lead. “Two hundred thousand sounds a lot more
exciting.”
Mrs. Reyes was speechless.
Alicia continued. “Mrs. Reyes, what's wrong? You don't seem excited. Is two hundred thousand too modest?
Should we raise it to five hundred thousand?”
Mrs. Reyes cut her off: “Two hundred thousand is perfectly fine.”
Alice suppressed a smile.
Before the gbegan, Mrs. Reyes had clung to a faint hope. Although she had lost a partner in the game,
Raquel had rigged the dice in her favor. As long as she played cautiously, not even Caden could outplay her.
But to her amazement, in the second round, Caden began racking up wins. Sweat began to build up on Ms.
Reyes' palms. How was this possible?
Then cthe second round, and the third...
Caden swept all of them. His hands seemed to get better with each game.
Mrs. Reyes's head began to spin.
Another woman at the table, crushed by her defeats, silently stood up and left without a word.
Rachel slid smoothly into the vacant seat.
Caden looked at her and said, “Mrs. Gray, your timing is impeccable. “I have a question for you.”
Rachel kept her smile calm and friendly. “I'm listening, Mr. Ward.”
Without a word, Caden picked up the dice and dropped them casually in front of her.
“Would you mind explaining this to me?” | have asked.
Alice's expression was one of confusion.
Mrs. Reyes hadn't anticipated Caden picking up on that detail, and her grip on the dice tightened.
Alice quickly put two and two together. “Is there something wrong with the dice?”
He took them and examined them carefully. But despite his careful examination, he found nothing unusual.
Curious, she asked, "What have you done to the dice?"
Caden kept his expression neutral. “I'm not sure. “You'll have to check with Mr. Gray.”

The mention of her husband sent a wave of fear through Mrs. Reyes. “Mr. Ward, please don't...”
Rachel quickly realized that Caden was backing off Alicia, leaving her feeling cornered.

Alice smiled faintly. Even now, they were trying to hold her responsible for the fuss.
"Mrs. Gray," Alice replied, "since you are being so generous, why don't you giveback the money | lost earlier
